Lenovo notebook Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a new feature added to WinXP SP2 and 2003 sp1. Simply put, DEP can be regarded as the underlying security protection mechanism of the operating system, and it does not have the function of virus detection itself. However, if a virus exploits a vulnerability or overflows, including local overflows, DEP can provide protection.
