Notes:

1.) The following operations will delete the data in the hard drive, so please be sure to back it up to an external storage device in advance.

2.) The entire process of installing the operating system takes about 60 minutes. Please connect the power adapter to avoid power outage midway.

1. Put the genuine DVD disc into the optical drive (the laptop needs to be turned on first).

2. Restart the laptop, press the button a few more times when the ASUS LOGO appears on the screen, select the optical drive (may be labeled "CD/DVD"), and then press to start with the Windows 7 installation CD.

3. After a few seconds, the words "Press any key to boot from cd..." will appear on the screen. At this time, you need to press any key on the keyboard to continue booting from the optical drive.

4. After the CD-ROM drive is booted, the interface will appear continuously (estimated to take one minute).

5. The following default setting options appear, taking the Simplified Chinese version as an example, [Language to be installed: Chinese (Simplified)], [Time and currency format: Chinese (Simplified, China)], [Keyboard and input method: Chinese (Simplified) - American keyboard], click [Next].

6. Click [Install Now].

7. After the installation program starts, the "Agree to License Terms" window will appear. Check "I accept the license terms (A)" and click [Next].

8. In the installation type selection screen, use the keyboard’s arrow keys or the mouse pointer to select [Custom (Advanced) C].

9. Enter the partition interface and click [Drive Options Advanced (A)].

10. Click [New (E)] to create a partition.

11. After setting the partition capacity, click [Next].

12. If you create a new hard drive or delete all partitions and then re-create all partitions, the Windows 7 system will automatically generateCreate a 100MB space to store the Windows 7 startup boot file. When prompted, click [OK].

13. The disk status after creating the C drive. At this time, there will be a C drive, an unallocated space, and a 100MB space.

14. As with the above method, please allocate the remaining hard disk space according to your usage needs.

15. Select the partition where you want to install the system and click [Next].

16. Start automatically installing the Windows 7 operating system (it is expected to take up to ten minutes).

17. It will automatically restart after completing the installation (estimated to take two minutes).

18. Then the Windows startup interface will appear.

19. The installation program will continue to install automatically (it is expected to take at least ten minutes).

20. The machine will automatically restart and the machine's startup program will be automatically installed.

21. After completing the check, you will enter the system setting interface, where you can set the user name and computer name.

22. After entering the user name, you will be prompted to set a password interface. If you need to set a system password, just enter the password. If you do not need to set a password, click [Next].

23. Enter the genuine product key prompt (need to purchase from Microsoft).

24. Then set the time and date and click [Next].

25. The system is set up and started.
