Hostname is the identification name assigned to one of the devices by the computer network. The hostname is used to identify the device on the network and is usually generated during the installation process. But changes can also be made.
Please follow the steps below to change hostname:
1. Please press the ALT and F2 keys at the same time.
2. Enter thunar and press ENTER.
3. Find the folder /etc/netconfig/network.
4. Double-click the file network to open it in a text editor, and find the line starting with HOSTNAME=.
5. Change the line to HOSTNAME=YOUR_NEW_COMPUTER_NAME. Here you can enter your new hostname without spaces.
6. To save the file, click the Save option in the File menu.
7. Restart the computer.
